UK holidaymakers have turned their backs on long-haul destinations to turn to holidays nearer to home which give them better value for money. According to reports, holidays such as America and Asia are on the way out and Tenerife is on the way in after holidaymakers in the UK have decided to tighten their belts and look for better value for money.
With cheap flights to the Canary Island becoming cheaper thanks to airlines such as EasyJet and Ryanair, holidays to Tenerife is giving holidaymakers in the UK more value for money, especially with the value of the Euro at the present moment.
'Tenerife Holidays Offer Great Value For Money'
According to research by Kayak which has been backed up by ABTA chairman John McEwan, holidaymakers were turning their backs on long haul holiday destinations due to the rising cost which is good news for Tenerife.
Demand for long-haul destinations has taken a dip as holidaymaker’s looks to save money by staying closer to home, according to a travel search website Kayak.
Kayak said that holidaymakers were looking for destinations closer to home that offer guaranteed sunshine such as Tenerife, while EasyJet UK director Paul Simmons admitted that 2012 would be a challenge year.
Tenerife has become a huge hit in recent years due to the guaranteed sunshine, but now with the UK holidaymakers able to get more for their money with the Euro, more holidaymakers from the UK are turning to Euro countries such as Tenerife to get great value.
