Three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
Humberside Police have arrested three men on suspicion of attempted murder following incidents on Lichfield Avenue in Scunthorpe.
Two men have been released while one of those arrested remains in custody.
Humberside Police were called to Litchfield Avenue on Friday after they received reports of loud noises.
Armed officers were sent to the area to investigate while police cordoned off Litchfield Avenue.
At the same time there was a two-vehicle crash on a quiet lane between a van and a car. One vehicle was found to be burnt out on Farmers Lane.
Humberside Police said: “At 9pm on Friday October 22 we received a call reporting a concern for safety following a loud noise on Lichfield Avenue.
“At the same time, a two-vehicle road traffic collision between a van and a car occurred. One vehicle was later found on Farmers Lane.
“Thankfully, nobody was been injured.
“Armed officers attended to the scene swiftly as we take all reports of this nature incredibly seriously.
“Three men have now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“A 27-year-old man remains in police custody and two men aged 24 and 50 have been released on police bail whilst we continue with further enquiries.”
