  • Investigation launched into A63 crash where three people died

 

An investigation has been launched by The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) into a crash on the A63 near the Humber Bridge where three people died.

On Monday November 22 three people died after a BMW collided with a Peugeot before setting alight on the A63.

Police revealed that a woman and two men died at the scene of the accident, while a third man was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) have launched the investigation into the crash after it was revealed that one of the vehicles was being pursued by Humberside Police Officers.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) told the BBC: “We were notified by [Humberside Police] that two cars had been involved in the collision during the evening of 22 November and that police vehicles had been involved in a short pursuit at different stages prior to the incident,”

“Our thoughts are with all of those affected by this tragic incident where sadly three people have died and a fourth remains in a critical condition.

“Our investigation is in its very early stages.”
