Man suffers head injury in Scunthorpe after street attack and shopping stolen
Humberside Police are hunting a man after he attacked by another man on Old Brumby Street in Scunthorpe. Before fleeing the scene, he stolen the victims shopping.
Officers who were called to Old Brumby Street at around 11.50pm on Tuesday November 23 said the victim was approached from behind.
He was assaulted and sustained head injuries. Due to his injuries, he was taken to hospital.
Police have said the man they are looking for is white, approximately 5ft 6 inches tall, has balding hair and is of stocky build. It is believed he was wearing workman’s clothing.
Humberside Police said: “An investigation is currently ongoing after we received reports of an assault on Tuesday November 23 at approximately 11.50pm.
“It is reported that a man was walking on Old Brumby Street, Scunthorpe when he was approached from behind by an unknown man and assaulted.
“The unknown man fled the scene and is believed to have taken the victims shopping.
“The victim sustained an injury to his head and was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment.
“Thankfully, his injuries aren’t thought to be serious.
“The unknown man is described as white and approximately 5ft 6 inches tall.
“The man was reported to have balding hair and of stocky build. He is also reported to have been wearing workman’s clothing.
“We are appealing for anybody with information who may have witnessed the incident to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting investigation reference 16/115821/21.”
