Lincolnshire Police have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of murdering nine-year-old girl Lillia Valutyte. They have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder
A UK man hunt was launched for the killer of a nine year old girl who was knifed to death in Boston. However, it has now been revealed that Lincolnshire Police have now arrested a 22-year-old man and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder of Lillia Valutyte
The 22-year-old man was arrested around 2.45pm on Saturday and a man hunt was launched. Lincolnshire Police released images of the man and asked the public for information on his location. Thanks to several members of the public, the unnamed man was quickly apprehended.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said the investigation remains in progress and if anyone has any information regarding the murder should contact them immediately.
“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident,” officers added.
In a statement at 4pm on Saturday, Chief Supt Martyn Parker thanked members of the public who had aided the inquiry, and urged anyone else with information to contact police.
He said: “We are still encouraging anyone with information to contact us and you can do so via the major incident portal, of which the details are on our website.
“We are in a very sensitive stage of our investigation,” said Chief Superintendent Martyn Parker.
“Once again, I would like to personally thank you for the support you have shown from members of the public and from the media. Your support is very much appreciated.”
