Police Arrest Five Shoplifters in Boston Operation

Police officers launched an operation to target shoplifters before Christmas and arrested five people suspected of shoplifting.

Last week the Boston Neighbourhood Policing Team joined forces with multiple local agencies for Operation Continents, a strategic initiative aimed at tackling shoplifting in the area.

Lincolnshire Police reported that during this targeted operation, three men and two women were apprehended for various offenses:

Karl Bell, 48, from Horncastle Road, Boston, is charged with shop theft and is set to appear at Boston Magistrates’ Court in the new year.

Robert Marshall, 50, also from Horncastle Road, Boston, faces 21 charges of shop theft and remains in custody, with a court appearance scheduled at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court in February.

Rebecca Bulman, 46, of South End, Boston, is charged with two counts of shop theft and will appear at Boston Magistrates’ Court in the new year.

David Titley, 43, from Hartley Street, Boston, faces a shop theft charge and is due in Boston Magistrates’ Court in the new year.

Danielle Nuttell, 39, of Willowmere Park, Hawthorn Hill, Dogdyke, is charged with shop theft and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court in the new year.

Police extended their gratitude to the partner agencies that played a vital role in this operation’s success, including Pescod Security, Boston Borough Council, as well as security teams from Asda, Boots, and Lidl.

The force acknowledged the particular concern this type of crime causes during the holiday season, noting its significant impact on shop workers, business owners, and shoppers alike.

Community Beat Manager PC Danni Pratt, who spearheaded the operation, stated: “Our commitment to combating shop theft is unwavering. We understand the detrimental effects of these crimes on livelihoods and community well-being.

“By persistently working to prevent these offenses, we safeguard our local businesses and foster a safe, welcoming environment for everyone. Our proactive measures and collaboration with the community have a profound impact, as we strive to build a stronger, safer, and more resilient community.

“Thank you for your continued support and vigilance. Operation Continents will remain a priority throughout 2025!”
