People living and working in Lincolnshire are being warned Storm Barra could cause serious distributions to public transport and power supplies this week.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Lincolnshire that will cover the period from 9am December 7, until the end of the day.
It said that “strong winds” were expected to affect most of the UK, including the entirety of Lincolnshire, with the agency saying that the impact could be particularly felt in “coastal communities” such as Skegness.
The bad weather could result in those travelling on December 7th facing delays on the road, rail, air, and ferry.
A spokesman for The Met Office said: “Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer. Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely.
“Some short term loss of power and other services is possible. It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves.”
People in Skegness, Boston, Gainsborough, Lincoln, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Grantham, and other parts of Greater Lincolnshire are being advised to only go out on December 7th if it is necessary
