Litchfield Lane Has Been Closed To Motorist After A Serious Incident On The Railway Crossing
Police have closed access to Litchfield Lane to motorist after a person was taken to hospital as what has been described as a serious incident.
Humberside Police attended an incident on Litchfield Lane in Grimsby with other emergency services after an incident was reported on the railway tracks.
British Transport Police has said that a person has been taken to hospital following the incident. According to a spokesman the person who was taken to hospital is in a serious condition.
Officers from Humberside Police and the British Transport Police attended the scene with paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service and crews from Humberside Fire and Rescue at around 11.35am today (24 October 2024). A Network Rail Response vehicle also attended the scene.
The road has now been opened for pedestrians but is still closed to motorists. Police have not confirmed when the road will be fully reopened.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line in Grimsby at 11.35am following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended and a person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
