A Local Grimsby Man Who Admitted To Murder Will Be Sentenced Later This Year
The 22-year-old Man could be sentenced to life in prison when he appears at Hull Crown Court
A man from Grimsby who admitted to murdering a 35-year-old cyclist on 21 May will find out his sentence later this year.
Liam Boydell, 22, who admitted to murdering a cyclist as the result of a traffic collision earlier this year could receive a life sentence in December at Hull Crown Court.
Humberside Police were called after reports that a 35-year-old man on a push bike had been hit by a grey Vauxhall Crossland car on Carnforth Crescent at 5.20pm on Sunday 21 May. According to reports, the person involved in the accident fled the scene.
Reece Braithwaite who was on his push bike was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, Reece died of his injuries on 24th May.
According to Liam Boydell defence barrister Peter Moulson KC, Boydell claimed that he did not intend to kill Mr. Braithwaite.
However, prosecutor Richard Wright KC responded that if Boydell did not intend to kill Mr. Braithwaite, the death was a “virtual certainty” because of his actions.
Sentencing will take place this December at Hull Crown Court.
