Lincoln Cathedral Roof Tours Resume After Man Suffered Injuries From A Fall

Lincoln Cathedral was closed off after man had a serious fall on Wednesday July 20

On July 20th, 2022, Lincoln Cathedral was closed off after man had a serious fall during the tour of the roof. However, it has now been confirmed the tours have been reopened to the public.

A spokesman for Lincoln Cathedral said that a man fell from around a third of the way up the central tower of Lincoln Cathedral between 11.30am and 12.30pm on Wednesday, July 20.

The man was taken to hospital and Lincolnshire Police have now confirmed that the man was detained until the Mental Health Act.

It has now been confirmed how the man had gained access to the roof of the cathedral, but a full investigation is set to take place to ensure it does not happen again.
