New plans have been submitted for Lincoln Morrisons supermarket’s car park
A planning application has been submitted to turn part of the car park at Lincoln Morrisons into a car village.
The new car village would offer motorists visiting the Lincoln Morrisons Store with services that include MOTs, and windscreen replacements.
If the plans are approved then those visiting the supermarket could leave their car at the car village and have their MOT done while they go shopping. They will also be able to have their windscreen repaired or replaced.
The design and access statement by Whittam Cox Architects on behalf of Morrisons, read: “The scheme seeks to revitalise the existing Morrisons car park by offering more choice to customers and generating new employment opportunities through the provision of a car village.
“Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc hope that the advantages of this proposal as well as the overall benefits to the local community will be supported.”
If the plans are approved, it would mean the loss of 62 car parking spaces at the Lincoln Morrisons store. The We Buy Any Car pod would also have to be moved elsewhere in the car park.
According to a spokesman for Wm Morrison, drivers would be able to visit Autoglass for windscreen repairs or visit Xpress Centre for body repairs. MOT Testing, and servicing would also be available.
If planning permission is granted, this would give motorists a one-stop-shop for their needs while doing their shopping in Lincoln.
