The Majority of Lincolnshire MPs have ignored their Constituencies voices in the battle against COVID
The Majority of Lincolnshire MPs have come under fire for ignoring their Constituencies and instead voted against Boris Johnson COVID plans.
MPs were given a chance to vote for or against Boris Johnson controversial law that will require people to show Covid passes at large events.
In the Tuesday vote five of our eight Lincolnshire Conservative MPs voted against the draft Health and Social Care Act 2008.
The Government wanted to introduce a bill where people attended nightclubs and large venues in England would be required to show coronavirus passes.
Although some believe it is a step to far, the majority of people believe it is the right thing to do to keep people safe. However, Brendan Clarke-Smith, John Hayes, Alicia Kearns, Edward Leigh, and Karl McCartney took upon themselves to ignore the people who voted for them and voted against the Act. Victoria Atkins did not record a vote.
The vote was still approved, no thanks to those Lincolnshire MPs who opposed it. It was approved by 369 to 126 votes in favour of COVID passports.
Two other new laws were also approved this evening.
A law for people to wear face coverings in indoor places such as museums and galleries was passed.
Another law was also passed that makes it mandatory for NHS and social care workers to have received a coronavirus vaccine in order to go to work. They will be required to have received a vaccine by April 2022. Some of those in the NHS and social care who don’t want the vaccine have said it is unfair.
