A misconduct hearing is scheduled for January 7 and 8, 2025, regarding former Inspector Jonathan Mellor. Allegations against the former officer include breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour in the following areas: Use of Force, Discreditable Conduct, and Authority, Respect and Courtesy.

While stationed at Grantham, it is claimed that on May 26, 2021, he engaged in unwarranted and deliberate use of force during an interaction with a member of the public on the A46 between Newark and Lincoln.

His conduct is described as disrespectful, abusive, and threatening, potentially undermining public confidence in the police service. If substantiated, these allegations constitute gross misconduct.
