New Travis Perkins store to open and create 28 jobs in Lincoln which hopefully will help to cushion the blow of Halfords closing.
With news that Halfords will be closing this month there is some positive news on the horizon. Travis Perkins is to open a new store with the creation of 28 jobs.
The building material supplier which will be open to the public will start trading on Monday November 6 at Teal Park in North Hykeham.
The Lincoln store which covers 3.05 acres will be opened by the Lincoln Mayor, Richard Wright. Customers will be able to hire tools, plant and specialist equipment.
Branch manager of Travis Perkins, Alex Pittock explained that it will have a brand new Benchmarx kitchen display showroom, plumbing and heating and bathroom range and hard landscaping display.
He said: “Our 28-strong team is excited to be opening our doors to the tradespeople and builders of Lincoln.
“This branch will have everything they need, when and where they need it, and will deliver value, convenience and consistency in a more sustainable branch, with a fantastic delivery and collection service that doesn’t compromise on time.
Travis Perkins has introduced electric forklift trucks, charging points, solar panels and a heat source pump to minimise carbon emissions by 90 per cent.
Another good addition is where customers can use the one-hour click & collect service.
The new site will be located at Whisby Road, Teal Park, North Hykeham, LN6 3AG.
