Did Justin Timberlake Cheat On Britney Spears?
Britney Spears has claimed that Justin Timberlake cheated on her and also revealed that she had an abortion.
Pop icon Britney Spears has made shocking revelations about her past relationship with Justin Timberlake in her upcoming memoir, ‘The Woman In Me’.
The memoir, set to hit the shelves on October 24, is already stirring up a storm with Britney accusing Justin Timberlake of cheating during their three-year romance.
Britney Spears, who was romantically involved with Justin Timberlake from 1999 to 2002, didn’t disclose the identity of the woman Timberlake allegedly cheated on her with, simply referring to her as ‘another celebrity.’
She refrained from naming the woman to avoid causing embarrassment to her family. Both Spears and Timberlake’s representatives have been contacted for comment.
In the memoir, Britney Spears also shared a heart-wrenching chapter of her life involving an unwanted pregnancy with Timberlake.
At the tender age of 19, she made the ‘agonising’ decision to terminate the pregnancy conceived in late 2000. The star stated that although she loved Justin deeply, he was convinced they weren’t ready to have a baby in their lives.
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” Britney reflected in her memoir.
She confessed that if it had been her decision alone, she would have continued with the pregnancy. However, she acceded to Timberlake’s insistence that he wasn’t prepared to become a father. Spears said that the abortion was ‘one of the most agonising things I have ever experienced in my life.’
Spears also shed light on her religious upbringing, revealing that she was raised ‘not to get an abortion’ due to her family’s beliefs. Despite the emotional turmoil, Britney later welcomed two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, with Kevin Federline.
Justin and Britney, who met on The Mickey Mouse Club, were an iconic star duo. Their abrupt split in 2002 was followed by rumours of infidelity on Britney’s part. The narrative that Spears had caused Timberlake emotional pain led to his career escalation, with albums and songs promoted under this narrative.
Timberlake’s 2002 hit, ‘Cry Me A River’, was widely speculated to be about Britney Spears, following claims of her infidelity. In an interview in 2018, Timberlake admitted to writing the song in just two hours, fuelled by his strong emotions following the split.
In his book, ‘Hindsight: And All The Things I Can’t See in Front of Me’, Timberlake refrained from mentioning Spears by name but thanked his wife Jessica and son Silas for his transformation.
In 2021, Timberlake penned an open apology, expressing deep regret and promising to ‘take accountability’. He admitted to failing Spears, particularly after their relationship came under fresh scrutiny following documentaries about Spears’ conservatorship.
In the face of these revelations, the world is keenly waiting for the release of Britney’s memoir, ‘The Woman In Me’, which promises to unfold many more hidden chapters from her life.
“I’ve been scorned. I’ve been p***ed off. The feelings I had were so strong I had to write it. I translated my feelings into a form where people could listen and hopefully relate to it. People heard me and they understood it because we’ve all been there,” Timberlake shared about the song.
Sources close to Justin Timberlake have said the book could cause serious problems for the Cry Me A River singer with his musical comeback. “Justin owns who he was when he and Britney were together, even though his personality, career, lifestyle, and personal priorities are radically different now, 20 years later.
“This book is a nightmare for him because of how it throws the whole family into chaos. The timing stings just as much as the revelation itself,” they added.
“Justin had a big fall planned with new music on deck, more work with his old friends in ‘NSYNC, and of course, the next instalment of the Trolls franchise, which has been a huge moneymaker for Justin over the last several years,” the insider told the US Sun.
It is not clear if Justin Timberlake told his wife, Jessica Biel, about the abortion with Britney Spears but one thing is for sure, at every interview Justin attends, he will be asked the question about the abortion and Britney Spears book.
