Manchester United Winger Antony Accused of Assault: Ex-Girlfriend Speaks Out
Manchester United winger Antony ex-girlfriend releases a statement after the Manchester United player was accused of physical assault and has been told by Manchester United to stay away
Gabriela Cavallin the ex-girlfriend of Manchester United winger Antony has released a statement after Manchester United told the player to stay from the club while he defends himself against allegations of physical assault.
Since Antony was accused of assault, other women have come forward with similar claims. The Manchester United player still denies the allegations made by his ex-girlfriend and the other women.
Gabriela Cavallin, a DJ and influencer, has accused Antony of assaulting her on four occasions. The allegations range from headbutting and punching to throwing a glass, resulting in injuries. She claims that one such incident occurred in a Manchester hotel in January, causing damage to her breast implant. Another alleged incident took place in May, during which she suffered an injury to her finger.
Due to the multiple allegations, Manchester United released a statement in which they confirmed that Antony will not be playing for the club while the allegations are being investigated by police in Brazil and Manchester.
The club expressed their condemnation of acts of violence and abuse and emphasized the importance of safeguarding all parties involved. Antony, who joined United in a high-profile transfer from Ajax, has denied all the allegations against him.
United’s statement said: “Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony. Players who have not participated in international matches are due back in training on Monday. However, it has been agreed with Antony that he will delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegations.
“As a club we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse.”
Gabriela Cavallin’s lawyers released a statement on her behalf, expressing trust in the seriousness and competence of the ongoing investigations by the Civil Police of Sao Paulo and the Police of Manchester/UK. They hope that the aggressor will be prosecuted and face punishment for the crimes he is accused of.
Antony, on the other hand, released a statement in which he expressed his agreement with Manchester United to take a period of absence while he addresses the allegations made against him. He reiterated his innocence and pledged his full cooperation with the police to establish the truth.
He said: “I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them reach the truth. I look forward to returning to play as soon as possible.”
As of now, Antony has not been arrested or charged in relation to the allegations. While he takes a break from playing, he will continue to receive his weekly salary of £200,000 from Manchester United. The legal proceedings and investigation will determine the outcome of this troubling situation.
