A poll with 1000 readers in London, Manchester, Grimsby, Boston, Skegness, Chester, Lincoln, and Liverpool on 21st May 2023 found that that 75% of our readers wanted Holly Willoughby to leave This Morning. Now that figure has reason to 82% since the famous ‘Are You Ok’ speech.

Holly Willoughby who has been accused of throwing her so-called friend Phillip Schofield has seen her reputation hit rock bottom.

Before Holly Willoughby returned to the This Morning Show 75% of our readers wanted the long-standing presenter to resign. But now, since her unconvincing ‘Are You Ok’ speech, 82% think Holly Willoughby should do the right thing and resign.

It is not just the viewers and our readers who are unconvinced by Holly Willoughby speech, celebrities have also hit out at her including Eamonn Holmes, Katie Hopkins, Kim Woodburn, and James Haskell. Many believe that not only was her speech unconvincing, but they also believe that she must have known about Phillip Schofield affair.

James Haskell has laid into Holly Willoughby during a rant on live TV and claimed ‘she knew’ Phillip Schofield was having an affair with a younger, male colleague.

The former rugby star said on The Jeremy Vine Show, “everyone knew” about the scandal.

The 37-year-old said: “Utter nonsense. She [Holly] asked: ‘Are you ok?’ A bloke off the TV cheated on his wife, I think I’ll survive, I think I’ll live. This is 2023 in a nutshell.

“I knew about this years ago, of course she [Holly] knows. Everybody knows.”

Myleene Klass, who was also a guest on the show, added: “I think it’s a case of the conversations that happen on that sofa, these are people who are trusted and welcomed into our house.”

Holly Willoughby gave a speech on Monday at the start of the This Morning show where she said:

“Deep breath – firstly, are you OK? I hope so. It feels very strange sitting here without Phil and I imagine you might be feeling a lot like I have – shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on, and full of questions.

“You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.

“And it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health. I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone. I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.”

Even her close friend Piers Morgan made fun of the speech and compared the speech to one that Jennifer Aniston gave on highly acclaimed The Morning Show.

Some This Morning viewers turned to Twitter and said Holly should have been given a Grammy for her performance while others said there is no way she did not know about the affair.

It is not just Holly Willoughby that viewers want to resign, they also want to see the back of Martin Frizell who is the boss of This Morning, and the head of ITV ITV’s chief executive, Dame Carolyn McCall.
