Phillip Schofield could become the most dangerous man on television if he writes a new autobiography.
With a poll conducted today with viewers from Skegness, Lincoln, Grimsby, Boston, London, Manchester and Hull, 74% saying they want Holly to do the right thing and resign, ITV have a lot of work to do to save the show.
After Phillip Schofield resigned from ITV or as Eamon Holmes calls it, was sacked, the former This Morning presenter could take his revenge on his former colleagues as well as fellow celebrities by writing a tell-all book.
It has been rumoured that top book publishers have been waiting in the wings with big money offers for Phillip Schofield to write a tell-all autobiography about his life. This could involve Phillip Schofield dishing the dirt on fellow celebrities including Holly Willoughby.
This week Phillip Schofield quit ITV after his sordid secret became public knowledge. It has been an open secret that Phillip Schofield had an affair with a young assistant on the This Morning show. Up until now that affair could not be reported on due to a super injunction. Now, the secret can be reported on, and claims that Phillip Schofield lied to his This Morning bosses, many believe that his career is now over.
With his career over, and news that his wife who was also lied to over the affair could finally divorce him, Phillip Schofield could be looking to make a quick buck. A tell-all book could be the answer to his financially troubles with a costly divorce settlement and no further TV work. Experts have said the book could become one of the fastest selling books of recent years.
If Phillip Schofield does write a tell-all book, then he could become the most dangerous man on TV with many celebrities taking legal action to stop them being mentioned. Insiders at ITV have said that Phillip Schofield knows lots of secrets and if he reveals them in a new book then it could end or damage some careers.
It has been claimed that bosses at ITV This Morning knew about the affair. However, ITV has released a statement and said they conducted an investigation three years ago and found no evidence of the affair. According to a statement released by ITV they have claimed that Phillip Schofield lied to them over the affair during the investigation.
Phillip Schofield after being found out about his lies released a statement:
“The first thing I want to say is: I am deeply sorry for having lied to them (the Daily Mail), and to many others about a relationship that I had with someone working on This Morning,” he said.
“I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.”
He added that “contrary to speculation” the relationship was “not illegal”.
He said: “Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
“That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over.”
He denied that a super injunction had been issued by him, or on his behalf, regarding the relationship.
“When I chose to come out I did so entirely for my own wellbeing,” he said.
“Nobody ‘forced’ me out. Neither I nor anyone else, to my knowledge, has ever issued an injunction, super or otherwise, about my relationship with this colleague, he was never moved on or sacked by or because of me.
“In an effort to protect my ex-colleague I haven’t been truthful about the relationship. But my recent, unrelated, departure from This Morning fuelled speculation and raised questions which have been impacting him, so for his sake it is important for me to be honest now.”
The presenter added: “I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public, and most importantly of all to my family.
“I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife.”
In response to the statement Eamonn Holmes replied with a tweet.
“Schofield has finally been caught out … But he’s not the only guilty party. 4 high members of Itv management knew what sort of man he was …and NEVER once took action to prevent him controlling or taking advantage of his position over young people.”
It has been claimed that Holly Willoughby and others working on the show knew about the affair.
Eamonn Holmes, said last week amid the confusion of Phil’s sudden departure, “Holly knows the truth, the story is with her.”
Viewers of This Morning have also claimed that Holly Willoughby must have known about the affair. However, ITV who are doing all they can to protect her have said in a statement that Phillip Schofield not only lied to them, but he also lied to her about the affair.
Phillip Schofield is quickly losing support from his fellow presenters on This Morning as well as his friends and fellow celebrities.
This Morning star Alice Beer has said she is “sad and angry” after hearing about Phillip Schofield’s relationship with a younger colleague.
With speculation that Alison Hamond could take over from Phillip Schofield, viewers want more changes. With a poll we conducted today with viewers from Skegness, Grimsby, Boston, London, Manchester and Hull, 74% saying they want Holly to do the right thing and resign, ITV have a lot of work to do to save the show.
Some TV experts have said that the This Morning Show cannot survive the scandal and could be forced to come off air. One thing is for sure, the ITV This Morning brand has
