Couple From Skegness To Stand Trial For Assaulting A Baby

  • A Couple from Skegness are to face trial on allegations of neglect, ill treatment and assaulting baby

 

A couple from Skegness have appeared at Boston Magistrate Court to face allegations of neglect, ill treatment and assaulting their nine-week-old baby son.

The Skegness couple who are aged 23 and 25, cannot be named for legal reasons. When they appeared at Boston Magistrate Court, they both gave different Skegness addresses.

According to the charges that were read out, the couple face an allegation of wilfully assaulting, ill-treating, neglecting, abandoning or exposing the baby in a manner likely to cause him unnecessary suffering or injury to health, between November 14, 2019, and January 21, 2020.

An additional charge was read out for the father of the boy where it is alleged between January 17 and 20 2020, he assaulted the baby boy causing him actual bodily harm.

The couple did not enter any plea when the charges were read out. They have both been sent to stand trial at Lincoln Crown Court. Their first appearance will be on November 23 of this year.
