  • Caravan fire ‘started deliberately’ at leisure park in Skegness

At 1.10am October 11th, Lincolnshire fire crews were called to Coral Beach Leisure, in Skegness Road, Ingoldmells.

Fire crews from from Skegness, Wainfleet and Alford attended the incident. The caravan was totally destroyed in the incident

A spokeswoman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “The caravan was a static caravan on a site, there were no casualties.

Lincolnshire Police who are investigating the fire with Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue have now confirmed the fire was started deliberately and are now treating it as arson.

Two neighbouring caravans were also damaged.

Mark Fowlston, office administrator at Coral Beach Leisure, said: “Fortunately and thankfully no-one was hurt.

“It’s under investigation now so there’s not a lot more we can say at the moment.”

This is the second caravan fire to happen in the area, with the last fire resulting in the death of two-year-old Louisiana-Brook.

Lincolnshire Police are asking for anyone with any information regarding the caravan fire to come forward, while Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue are advising all caravan owners to make sure their smoke alarms are working.
