Skegness Man Jailed After Knife Attack On Ex-Partner

A man from Skegness who tried to slash his ex-partner with a knife has been jailed after pleading guilty at Lincoln Crown Court.

 

On Monday, November 28, 2022, local residents in Skegness were shocked when police arrived at an address on Albany Road, Skegness at 7.45 due to a serious incident. The incident involved a man forcing his way into the property with a knife and attempting to slash a woman in her 50s.

Martin Yarrow, 56, who had a knife hidden behind his back when he forced his way into the property was arrested two hours later and was charged with attempted murder.



A police spokesman at the time said “Thankfully, she only sustained minor injuries during the ordeal.

“Yarrow left the scene and was arrested by officers two hours later. He was subsequently charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife.”

Martin Yarrow of Harrow Drive, Skegness appeared at Lincoln Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm. He was sentenced to four years in prison and handed a 10-year restraining order.

Some residents in Skegness have questioned the sentence and said for such a serious crime it should have been longer.
