Lincolnshire Police Charge Man After Drugs Worth £1m Found In Raid
A man has been arrested after a raid where police found a drug factory.
Local residents in in a village in rural Lincolnshire were shocked when police raided a house in Cranesgate North, Whaplode St Catherine, Spalding on Wednesday.
Police found drugs during the raid worth more than £1m in what has been described as a suspected pill factory.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said they found pill presses, powders, and drugs including diazepam and anabolic steroids.
Police have arrested a 47-year-old man who has been charged with supplying and producing anabolic steroids and class C drugs.
Another person was also arrested, a 33-year-old woman who has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Acting Det Sgt Helen Morris said anabolic steroids sat in a “legal grey area” between a medicine and a banned recreational drug.
“Stopping the manufacture of these drugs has removed a significant risk to the public,” she added.
A local resident who did not wished to be named said she was shocked that a drugs factory was found within minutes from where she lived.
